I like that I can create something in as little as 30 minutes or take as long as I want. With other crafts I found myself getting bored with projects - not so with beading. And, I'm sorry, but the beads are just so pretty!

I have a rather thick neck and can't wear a lot of necklaces out there because they are too small. I remember thinking that I could make many of the necklaces that I saw in the stores if I just had the right tools. There was a jewelry store in my college town and the owner was kind enough to show me some tips as she repaired some necklaces for me. After that, I just took it upon myself to learn what I could about the different styles that I liked. Years later, a friend of mine who blows glass showed me how to make some lampwork beads. While I have a long way to go on my technique, I like creating completely unique pieces of art that I can wear anytime!
