Instant gratification! In my other crafting life I am a knitter which means my projects often take weeks or months to be completed. With beading, I can usually finish even the most ornate piece in a few hours.

Earrings! I love making earrings! I have run out of places to put them all and there aren't enough days in the year to wear them all as much as I'd like but I can't stop!

Tape a grocery bag to your work space and snip wire ends inside the bag. It prevents accidental flying bits of wire that later get stuck in your feet

On my bedroom floor. Forget the desk or table, the floor has way more space and super easy clean up. Just run the vaccum around (you have to do it anyway) and that's it!

Arton Beads, Golden Beads and the Beadery on Queen St W. in downtown Toronto are my usual haunts. Though I do stalk Michaels for clearence and good sales. They are too expensive to buy at regular price! Most of my tools come from the hardware store.

My first detailed beading memory was when I was about 6 years old. I made my mom a necklace for Mother's day in school. I remember stringing pink, purple and green pony beads on rainbow coloured rat tail and lacing a fake daisy on in between every 6 beads (cause I was 6, duh.)

I wanted it to be perfect so badly that I pulled off most of the beads when I noticed an orange one had snuck in near the beginning. I was so disapointed that I had to start over because it meant I couldn't make the matching bracelet.
