Beading (of course) and tessellation art

I have loved beads since I was 13. I think they are one of the most versatile media and I absolutely love creating things out of beads. Beading actually pre-dates cave painting in age (of art forms discovered on the earth). And you can find some type of beading or similar personal adornment almost everywhere in the world.

Anything geometric, right-angle weave and triangle weave beaded beads; spherical & tubular beaded beads, anything with Swarovski crystals; Valerie Hector's Chinese Hexagon Pillow

Right-Angle weave (flat and 3D)
Triangle Weave
Netting
Circular Peyote

Practically everywhere, but especially geometric forms and 3D geometry (platonic solids). i enjoy my bead books and magazines but it's rare that I complete a project from them. I save photos from the internet all the time (the pics on Bead Ad Infinitum are amazing) but they are saved to give me creative spark when I think my "fire's gotten too cool".

Always take your beads and a sketchbook or notebook with you wherever you go. You never know when a great design idea will hit you.

Hi,  I recently started beading & became a member here.    I've only seen the 2 pieces you displayed (white cross & brown flower).  That is fabulous.  I didn't know what ever stitch that is existed.  I could just see my mom & sis freaking out over the cross.  Fabulous job

Hi Onye!

I was not planning to stay on here for now, because today is probably one of my better days. I'm still battling the after affects of an Upper Respiratory problem, and predicatably so -- it has now affected my Sinus (Sinustitus). This is very discouraging, but I am TRUSTING in the LORD as usual. I believe that whenever we are dealing with the likes of this, then there is an ulteria motive (in GOD'S eyes). I have had Lorengitis for approximately one month, and having a voice coming and going (well, it helps one to be appreciative). I'm appreciative that (at least) it's working to come back. Going back and forth to the Doctors, and being misdiagnosed (with the wrong medication) has not been something to bring joy -- at least, not to me.

Was working on some beading projects, but being under the weather has created havock on me. It tends to work on my concentration, so, I'm just going slowly. Did take a peak at your new additions, and (My oh my!!!! your work is great!!!) I'm having a hard enough time working on a Double Spiral, which is not working to my liking. So, will look for an alternative. One which will not create anxiety on me (right now). Just received a Wig Jig, which I had ordered. Wanted to do a little of the wire wrapping. This might not bring on more problems for me -- where I'm still not on top of things. Onye! GOD is still awesome to me! He brings tears to my eyes, and my heart. Know that He is with me, and that "ALL things happen in accordance with His will. He has His reasons, and I will not question His motivations". It doesn't mean that I won't work on some of my projects. Had also selected a few books from the net, to work on a project which was on hold. I'm planning on making some pendants with stained glass techniques. There is a method to my madness -- I want to do some mini pallettes re. Madeira, Portugal. I've been missing my MOM, and this is my way of bringing her to me. Onye, she was my hero -- after JESUS/GOD, and I was Blessed immensely to have her touch my life. She raised fourteen (actually fifteen/David died a few years before I was brought onto the scene). She was widowed when I was three (3), and our older brothers were very instrumental in helping her out. During times when things were tough in my life, she was the person whom stood up to help me to realize what having Faith was all about. So, I'd like to be able to do something in her memory. It is my gift from GOD, for her. Anyway, my dream also is to visit her homeland. Don't mention my father too much, because he died when I was three. From what I recall about him, and my MOM -- she had a very difficult life. A quiet spoken lady (unlike meeeee -- Ha! Ha!) I can still see her motioning to me to be still. So, it always hits me dead center whenI hear -- "Be still -- (and of course) Be still and know that I am GOD". Of late, the "I am" really sticks with me. It has such a strong symbolism. Anyway, I had invested in some acryllics, although I've painted more in watercolours. I'm a glutton for punishment. Ahem! Watercolours fade easily from light, so the appropriate choice has to be the Acryllics.

Couldn't believe what you did with your beading element. Thought to myself, maybe soon, I might do some researching on that technique. It is something that will require patience, so, it will have to fit once I'm feeling better. I'm thinking that I'd be pleased to purchase one from you too. Please give me an opportunity to get back on my feet, because I have something very special in mind for it. Okay!

Onye, I will go back again and again to check out your flicks, but have to get back to getting some rest today. All I want to do is to get back to feeling better soooooooonnnnnnnnnnnn. The Asthma is what creates the problems, and that triggers the COPD. Refuse to give into it, and GOD has a plan for me. If I don't know anything else, I do know that. AMEN, MY SISTER!!!!

Thank you kindly for sharing your gorgeous work with me. I appreciated taking a peek at it greatly.

Take Care and May God Continue to Bless You. It's obvious He is, because from what I see -- you are Blessed!!!

LOL,

DIANA
