Selling Your Beading Creations And Designs Through BeadHuddle.com

Do You Plan To Sell Your Beading Creations?

If you want to, plan to, or currently do sell your beadwork, beading creations or beading jewelery, here are some useful tips and strategies for how you can use your BeadHuddle membership to help you make more sales:

Strategy 1 - Use BeadHuddle.com to drive more visitors to your website or product store.

Do you have a website where you currently sell your products? If so, great! If not, it's really easy to set one up nowadays (we'll add a tutorial on how to set up a simple site to sell your creations soon!). You can also look at setting up an eBay or Yahoo store (a great place to sell your handcrafted items online is Etsy.com) ... even a WordPress blog will do (we'll explain how to do this in the tutorial). The important thing to keep in mind here is that there are tools and technologies available that allow you to sell your stuff online which are not expensive (some things, like WordPress blogs for example, are even free!) and don't require much technical knowledge to set up.

Now ... it's a proven fact that people prefer to buy from other people or businesses that they know, like and trust. A social networking site like BeadHuddle.com is an ideal place for other people to get to know you, like you and trust you.

One of the best strategies to consider, therefore, if you plan to sell products using a social networking site like BeadHuddle.com to help you, is to use your BeadHuddle space to:

a) build relationships with other people (i.e. help them get to know you and your beading creations / style better),

b) provide useful and helful information to others (this not only helps to get people to like you, it also shows you really know your stuff and helps to build your credibility)

c) establish a consistent presence through your active participation in and contribution to the community (this helps build trust and even more credibility)

While you are engaging with other members and being involved in the community, you should also be taking advantage of some or all of the features we make available to help you promote your website or online store and use links in appropriate places that point back to your own site.

Here are some of the ways you can promote your own site using BeadHuddle.com:

  • Add links in the "website" and "about" section of your personal profile.
  • Add a link in your forum signature (your signature appears in the bottom of every post you make - see the "How To Use BeadHuddle.com section of the forum for a tutorial on how to create a signature).
  • Write useful articles about beading in your own blog and add a paragraph about your services with a link to your site at the end of your articles.
  • Upload photos to the image gallery. If you want to, you can add a small and tastefully placed logo or website address somewhere in the image (so that it doesn't interfere with other people's enjoyment of your image). Usually, the bottom right hand corner is a good place to add this.
  • Create a video with your website address included, upload it to YouTube.com, then post it on your site (see the tutorial on how to upload videos to BeadHuddle.com for instructions.)
  • Use the classifieds section of BeadHuddle.com to promote your products and/or web site
  • Use the Auctions section of BeadHuddle.com (you can also promote your BeadHuddle auctions on your web site or blog)

Strategy 2 - Use BeadHuddle.com to help get your beading business started.

If you are just starting out and want to build up your skills before getting your own website or online store set up, try starting with the classifieds and auction features of our site, then grow your business and your business skills from there.

We also offer a Professional Membership level that provides access to additional business services and features for beading-related businesses and individuals who already sell their beading creations, products or services online.

One of the aims of BeadHuddle.com is to become not only one of the main online destinations for beading enthusiasts and beading-related businesses, but also for individuals seeking to buy beadwork designs, creations and jewelery directly from the beading artists themselves. If you are interested in doing beading for a profit, then know that we want to help you get greater exposure online, and not just sell your stuff to other members.

To help us achieve this aim, we currently employ search engine experts and internet marketing professionals to help us get the word out about BeadHuddle.com (you can help too by telling people about BeadHuddle.com in other beading forums and beading sites or directories, and by simply inviting new members to join our community).

By promoting your own sites and businesses here at BeadHuddle.com, the benefits of attracting more members and visitors to our site will also flow on to you. Hopefully, this will lead to new customers, more sales and a greater awareness of who you are and what you have to offer.

Hi Ellenjewelrydesign,

I'm glad you got some good ideas from the article. One of the most effective and inexpensive ways to get the word out about your business, is described below:

1) Write about 5-10 articles about a topic you know something about (e.g. jewelery design). Provide really good, useful information that others can benefit from (i.e. don't write about you or your business, but instead focus exclusively on the topic you're writing about - e.g. "5 Things You Should Know Before Buying Custom Jewelry")

2) Add a paragraph at the end of each article that describes you and your business, with a link to your BeadHuddle profile and your website (if you have one). Tip: Create 2-3 variations of this paragraph and write it in the 3rd person (e.g. Ellen Jewelry Design specializes in [add your description here] .... To view Ellen Jewelry Design's BeadHuddle.com profile go here: [add link here] , or visit their website:[add link here]

3) Post one article a day here on the BeadHuddle blog, then submit your article to Digg.com (click on the button next to the article to submit it to Digg - you'll need to set up an account with Digg if you don't have one already - it's easy to set up an account and it's free!)

4) Invite your friends here at BeadHuddle.com to view your article and submit them to Digg.com as well as to some of the other social bookmarking sites (click on the icons at the bottom of the article to visit those sites)

5) Do this on a regular basis and you will see an increase in visitors to your profile page and your web site.

We've used the above method to promote BeadHuddle.com since we launched three weeks ago, and, when we last checked, we had over 2,500 entries on Google search results (visit Google.com and type in "BeadHuddle" or "BeadHuddle.com" to see how many pages we're listed on).

Adding great articles here with great information for the beading community about relevant topics (i.e. beading, jewelery-making, etc ...) on a regular basis and using the other methods described on the article, will give your business greater exposure online, guaranteed. And best of all, most of it won't cost you a cent!

I hope this helps and we wish you great success with your jewelry business

There are some great ideas here. I buy online for the convenience, and will be more concious of buying from smaller merchants, rather than chain department stores. We need to support the small business owner:)
