Beading lets me express my creative side in a whole new way. I have always loved to sew and create items that way. It is fun to take something that is in pieces and then construct something to wear or decorate with. My next challenge for myself is to learn how to make beads by either blowing glass or using clay.

I really don't have a "favorite" project. Each of my pieces are one of a kind so they have their own place on my favorite list.

I am more traditional with a hint of modern. I am always looking for new ideas on how to make different looks.

Looking for ideas is so much fun. There are so many places to go and so little time. I really like Fire Mountain because besides new ideas they have great tutorials. I also pick up idea sheets that are hanging around the beads at Hobby Lobby and JoAnn's. Some times it is the beads themselves that suggest ideas. I will buy them for one idea I have but when I start working on the idea something else comes out. Gets really strange some times

Don't be afraid to experiment. I have put things together only to take them apart and start again. That is one of the great things about beading - it is easy to start all over again.

My husband works evenings and I am an empty nester so I have time on my hands. I have set up a studio in my office that is just dedicated to beading. It is get to be able to leave things out so that I can just pick up and start any time.

Oh Boy!! Can I get in trouble shopping for beads. I rather shop for beads at JoAnn's, Hobby Lobby and a couple of speciality shops so that I can make sure the color, shape and texture are what I am looking for. But, I also shop for beads on eBay, and Oriental Trading. I just have to remember to not spend all of my money in one spot.

I started beading by accident. I had a dress that I could not find a necklace and earrings that would complete the look I was going for. I came across an article in a magazine about making jewelry and decided that this is what I needed to look into. I went out and found several different beads that matched the dress and went to work designing my necklace and earrings. The next thing I know I am designing pieces for friends and neighbors.
